Problems that can often be repaired
- A crushed or broken pipe between the house, the tank and the field
- A failed effluent pump, float or alarm
- A broken or missing tank baffle
- A damaged distribution box
- A cracked lid or riser
- Tree roots in the line
Problems that usually mean replacement
- A leach field that has stopped absorbing water
- A tank that is cracked or collapsing
- A system that is too small for the home
If that is where you are, see leach field and system replacement. Not sure which side you are on? Read repair or replace your leach field.
What to do right now if sewage is backing up
- Stop running water. No laundry, showers or dishwasher.
- Keep people and pets away from any wet ground or standing water over the system.
- If the system has a pump alarm, note whether it is on.
- Call or text us with what you are seeing. Photos help.
How a repair is priced
A repair is priced by what is broken and how hard it is to reach, so the price comes after someone looks at it. You get the price in writing before any work starts. If you already have a written quote for the same repair, bring it and we will beat it.
Some repairs need a county permit and some do not. That depends on the repair and on your county.
We visit your site and bid the job. A licensed septic installer does the work and holds the contract and the county permit.
Septic tank pumping is a different service from repair, and it is not one we offer. If your tank simply needs to be pumped, a local pumping company is the right call.
